This summary is here to help. The full terms below are what apply.

1. Who we are and what these terms cover

Zinda Chess is published by Binary Buddies, an independent software studio run by Hitesh Virani in Junagadh, Gujarat, India ("we", "us"). These terms are the agreement between you and us for using Zinda Chess. By installing or using it, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use it.

Google Play's own terms also apply to downloading the app from Google Play and to anything you pay for there.

2. What Zinda Chess does

Zinda Chess is chess in which every piece is a living character and every capture plays out like a film scene. You can play offline with no account, or sign in to play other people online.

3. Who can use it

Zinda Chess is not directed at children under 13. Online play, including friends, profiles and leaderboards, is for players 18 and over, and by using it you confirm that you are. If you are under the age at which you can accept a contract where you live, a parent or guardian needs to accept these terms for you.

4. Your right to use the app

We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to install and use Zinda Chess on devices you own or control, for your own non-commercial use, as long as you follow these terms. You agree not to:

  • copy, sell, rent or redistribute the app, or publish a changed version of it;
  • take the app apart or try to get at its source code, except where the law lets you;
  • use it to break the law or anyone else's rights;
  • interfere with the app, or with any server or service it connects to.

5. Price, ads and purchases

Zinda Chess is free to install and shows no ads.

If Zinda Chess ever offers something to buy, you buy it through Google Play. Google takes the payment, and Google Play's refund rules apply, along with any right to cancel or get a refund that the law gives you.

6. Your online account

To play online you sign in with Google, or with an email address and password. Please keep your sign-in details safe: you are responsible for what happens under your account.

You can delete your account at any time in the app: Play Online → My player card → Account → Delete my account. If you no longer have the app, use the form at zindachessplay.binarybuddies.in/delete-account. The privacy policy explains what is removed and what is kept.

7. Community rules and fair play

Before you play online you accept the Community rules shown in the app. They are part of these terms. In particular, you agree not to:

  • use a chess engine, another person or any other outside help in an online game or Puzzle Rush run;
  • manipulate ratings, leagues or boards, for example by trading wins with another player or playing deliberately short games;
  • modify the app, or use bots or other automated play;
  • use a player name or social link that is offensive or misleading, that pretends to be someone else, or that you have no right to use;
  • harass other players, or misuse reports, invites or friend requests.

8. Moderation

To keep play fair, our server looks for unusual patterns, and our moderators review what it finds and what players report. Moderators can remove a player name, link or score, give a warning, restrict what an account can do, or ban it. If you think a decision is wrong, email us and we will look at it again.

9. Your profile

Other players can see your player card, including your player name, avatar, ratings and league, and your social links according to your settings. You are responsible for what you add, and you give us permission to show it in the game while your account exists. After you delete your account, games you played stay in your opponents' history as "Deleted player".

10. Ratings and game progress

Ratings, League Points, league places, streaks and other game progress are part of the game. They have no money value, cannot be sold or transferred, and may be corrected or removed to keep play fair.

11. Online availability

Online play depends on our server and on your connection. Games can be interrupted, and we may take online play down for maintenance or ask old versions of the app to update before they can play online. Offline play does not need any of this.

12. Your information

How Zinda Chess handles information is explained in its privacy policy.

13. Updates and availability

We may update Zinda Chess, change or remove features, or stop offering it. We cannot promise that it will work on every device or version of Android, or that it will always be available.

14. Who owns what

Zinda Chess, including its name, logo, artwork and code, belongs to us or to those who license it to us. These terms give you the right to use it, not ownership of it. Parts of the app come from others and keep their own licences. The puzzles come from the free Lichess puzzle database. If you send us feedback or ideas, we may use them without owing you anything.

15. No guarantee, and the limits of our liability

We work to keep Zinda Chess reliable, but we provide it "as is" and "as available". We cannot promise that it will always work, be free of errors or suit your particular purpose.

As far as the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of data, profit or business, arising from your use of the app. Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot be limited by law.

16. Your rights as a consumer

If you use the app as a consumer, you keep every right the law of your country gives you that cannot be signed away. In the European Economic Area and the UK, that includes your legal rights if digital content does not work as described. If anything in these terms conflicts with those rights, those rights win.

17. Ending your use

You can stop at any time by uninstalling Zinda Chess and, if you have one, deleting your online account. If you seriously or repeatedly break the Community rules, we may restrict or ban your online account.

18. Law and disputes

If you have a problem, please email us first at hello@binarybuddies.in. These terms are governed by the laws of India, and disputes go to the courts of Junagadh, Gujarat, India. If you are a consumer living in another country, this does not take away the protection of that country's mandatory laws, or any right you have to bring a claim in your local courts.

19. Changes to these terms

We may change these terms, for example when the app or the law changes. We will update this page and its update history, and where we can we will make important changes clear in the app or on its store page. If you keep using Zinda Chess after a change, you accept the new terms. If you don't accept them, please stop using it.

20. Contact
