This Privacy Policy explains how the CloneKit mobile application (“CloneKit”, “the app”, “we”, “us”) handles information. CloneKit is published by Binary Buddies and distributed on Google Play under the package name in.binarybuddies.clonekit.

Please read this policy before using the app. By installing or using CloneKit you agree to the practices described here.

Summary. CloneKit does not collect, transmit, sell, or share your personal data. It has no user accounts, no analytics, no advertising, and no servers of its own. Everything the app stores stays in its private storage on your device, and is deleted when you remove the clone or uninstall the app.

1. What CloneKit does

CloneKit lets you run an additional, independent copy of an app that is already installed on your device, so that copy can hold a separate login or account. The additional copy keeps its own storage, separate from the original app.

CloneKit does not download, distribute, install, or modify any application. It only runs a copy of an app that you installed yourself from your own device.

2. Information we do not collect

We want to be specific rather than vague, because “we may collect” language is often used to hide collection that is actually happening. In CloneKit, the following are simply not present:

No personal information. The app never asks for your name, email address, phone number, or date of birth.
No account or sign-in. CloneKit works entirely offline and has no registration of any kind.
No analytics or tracking. There is no analytics SDK, no crash-reporting SDK, no advertising identifier collection, and no usage telemetry.
No advertising. The app contains no ad networks and displays no advertisements.
No servers. We operate no backend service for CloneKit. The app makes no network requests of its own, so no information about you ever reaches the developer.
No location, contacts, photos, microphone, or camera access is requested by CloneKit itself.

Because nothing is transmitted, there is no personal data for us to sell, share, disclose, or hand to a third party — and we do not do any of those things.

3. Information stored on your device

CloneKit saves a small amount of information locally so that it can work between launches. This information stays inside the app’s private storage area, which other apps on your device cannot read. It is never uploaded anywhere.

These diagnostic records are stored only on your device. They are never sent to us automatically, and there is no background reporting.

4. Access to your list of installed apps

To let you choose which app to copy, CloneKit asks Android for the list of apps on your device that have a launcher icon. This uses Android’s standard <queries> declaration, which is limited to launchable apps — CloneKit does not request the broader QUERY_ALL_PACKAGES permission.

This list is used only to draw the app picker on your screen. It is not recorded, profiled, or transmitted anywhere.

5. Apps that you copy

This is the most important section of this policy. A copied app is still the original third-party app, made by its own developer. When you sign in to a copy, you are signing in to that company’s service exactly as you would in the original app.

Please understand the following:

A copied app runs inside CloneKit and uses CloneKit’s network access and permissions to reach the internet. Any data that app sends goes to its own developer’s servers, not to us. We do not see it, intercept it, log it, or store it.
Each copied app is governed by its own privacy policy and its own terms of service. We are not responsible for how those apps collect or use information. If you want to know what a copied app does with your data, read that app’s privacy policy.
Some services restrict or prohibit running more than one instance of their app, or using unofficial environments. Using a copy may violate those terms and could result in the service limiting or closing your account. You are responsible for making sure your use complies with the terms of any service you sign in to.
Some apps will not run correctly as a copy, or will not run at all — particularly apps that depend on Google Play Services or on device-level security checks. This is a technical limitation, not a defect in your device.

6. Permissions

CloneKit declares the permissions below. Several of them exist so that a copied app can function normally while running inside CloneKit, rather than for CloneKit’s own use.

`INTERNET`	Allows a copied app to reach its own service. CloneKit itself makes no network requests.
`ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE` `ACCESS_WIFI_STATE`	Lets a copied app check connectivity, as it would normally.
`POST_NOTIFICATIONS`	Lets a copied app show notifications, and lets CloneKit tell you when a copy could not start.
`FOREGROUND_SERVICE`	Supports background work started by a copied app.
`WAKE_LOCK`	Allows a copied app to keep the device awake for a task, as it would normally.
`VIBRATE`	Allows a copied app to use haptic feedback.

CloneKit does not request permission to install packages from unknown sources on Google Play, and cannot install applications.

7. Children

CloneKit is a general-purpose utility and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children, because the app does not collect information at all.

8. Your control over your data

Because everything stays on your device, you have direct control:

Delete a single copy from within CloneKit — that copy’s data, including any account it was signed in to, is deleted from your device.
Clear the app’s data in Android Settings → Apps → CloneKit → Storage, which removes every copy and all local records.
Uninstall CloneKit, which removes all of it permanently.

We cannot delete data for you on request, because we never hold any. Deleting a copy in CloneKit does not delete your account with that third-party service — to do that, contact the service directly.

9. Security

All data handled by CloneKit is kept in the app’s private storage, protected by the Android application sandbox and by your device’s own encryption. Because nothing is transmitted off the device by CloneKit, there is no transmission for a third party to intercept.

No method of storage is completely secure. If your device is rooted, lost, or compromised, data belonging to any app on it — including copies created with CloneKit — may be at risk.

10. Versions distributed outside Google Play

A version of CloneKit may be offered for direct download from our website. It provides an additional mode built on Android’s work profile feature. Its data practices are identical to those described here: nothing is collected and nothing is transmitted. This policy applies to it equally.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy if the app changes. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. If a future version of CloneKit ever collects information, we will update this policy before that version is released, and describe exactly what is collected and why.
